1Setting Achievable Fitness Goals

The SMART Framework

  • S (Specific): "Lose weight" → "Lose 5kg in 3 months"
  • M (Measurable): Track via scale, BMI, body fat %
  • A (Achievable): Realistic — losing >1kg/week is unsustainable
  • R (Relevant): Aligned with your lifestyle
  • T (Time-bound): "By June 30th"

Concrete Examples

Weight: "Reduce from 73kg to 68kg by June 30"

Exercise: "Walk 30 minutes every Mon/Wed/Fri for 3 months"

Tracking and Adjusting

Review progress weekly. Adjust goals if consistently out of reach — a less ambitious goal you achieve beats one you quit.
